Harmonium

Though Western in origin, the harmonium became an integral part of Indian music. This hand-pumped reed organ is widely used in Bengal for devotional singing, folk traditions, and classical accompaniment. Its portability and rich tonal quality made it central to kirtans, baul songs, and Rabindra Sangeet, and it remains a familiar presence in most Bengali homes.
